I just picked up a very nice set of Heresy II speakers, ($25 bucks for the pair from a thrift store ) build date of 1985. They state right on the back speaker terminal plate that they are "nominal impedence 4 ohms".

The crossovers look identical to all of the pics of the heresy II crossovers I see posted on the Klipsch community forum.

Any info that I find on the heresy II's state they are 8 ohms nominal.

So what gives? Did the early ones come in 4 ohms, then they went to 8 ohms? Thanks, YD

Early H2s are marked 4 ohms and later ones are marked 8 ohms. There is absolutely no difference between the ones that are marked 4 ohms and the ones marked 8 ohms. Same drivers. Same circuit for the crossovers. Probably just too many people were concerned about them being 4 ohms, so Klipsch "re-evaluated" the impedance data.

Mine measure in at 6 ohm on the multimeter...go figure. I hook them up to the 8 ohm tap.

Thanks, actually measuring them crossed my mind. So probably rates at 6 ohms, they originally called them 4 nominal, then later changed it to 8 nominal. I'm good with that. Thank you both for the info.

Did some reading over on the Klipsch forum a well, looks like I will be contacting BECtoo for some capacitors. I sort of feel priveleged (and confident in the reliability of the answer to my question) to have a reply from you. Thanks YD
