This is sort of fun dragging up some more or less unknown bands. OK, maybe Buffalo Springfield is a pretty big deal, but not many I've talked to know about them. I think this band is great, classics like Mr. Soul and For What It's Worth are definitely 60's anthems. And they had the drummer up front on stage when they performed, that's just cool. What makes them really great is that they were the starting point for Stephen Stills and Neil Young. That makes it easy to find similar music, CSNY, anyone? :D I'm always trying to expand my musical horizons by finding band members that I like and following them through their careers. Good ones here, in Stills and Young, IMO.

They were also the starting point for Poco (Jim Messina and Richie Furay). I must have worn out two or three copies of "Retrospective".

I think the band got started after Young and Stills ran into each other on the streets of Ontario. Great band. I have a bunch of their albums.
