Just picked up a Yamaha CD-S1000 to rediscover my CD collection, and have been spinning a few discs that haven't been out for awhile.

Compared to my Blu-Ray player, it's like a layer of noise, or film has been lifted off the recordings.

Janis Ian - Breaking Silence - Label: Morgan Creek

Have to admit I had never listened to this front to back, and have to recommend this 1992 release. The song Tattoo is fantastic, and really makes an impact. Her vocals, and the guitar work are amazing.

Frank Zappa - apostrophe(')' - Rykodisc Au20 edition

Wow! This truly is am impressive re-master of a classic Zappa album. The guitar solo on the title track is still one of my all time Zappa favouites.

Now to start breaking out the SACD's!

yeh pretty much anything on that Rykodisc label remastered sounds great , they did amazing jobs with the Bowie catalog & the elvis costello stuff .
