Cool :) Yeah, sorry about being vague. I figured the plastic one was the 250 (I got one of those years ago and yes, its crap)
I don't see many older Sony tables around here much, but I do know that lots of that era Sony were tanks. :thmbsp:
ETI_5000 02-21-2009, 10:39 AM Yes, recent model Sony turntables like your plastic model are rather lightweight compared to the excellent models they sold back in the 1970's and 1980's. I'm not surprised you think the earlier direct drive model is better - I think the specifications would support that, as well as your ears. They sell so few these days that they can't be bothered to make any really good ones.:sigh:

Well, the PS-T33 is in my list of turntables with the same headshell as the tonearm on my PS-X600 turntable, from when I was searching for them (I’ve recently bought two on Ebay:thmbsp:). Other turntables on the list were from about 1981/82, so I’d say it probably is, too. According to the Blue Book, it was from 1978-1983. The PS-LX250H, according to the Blue Book, is a 2002 model. http://www.usedprice.com/dropdown.php?catname=audio&typeid=15&mfrid=7276&query=&increment=type

2fives 02-21-2009, 01:11 PM Sony like many of the other manufactures of mid to hi-fi made some models where even if you saw it for $5 at a garage sale you may just say "ahhh forget it"
howie123 02-21-2009, 01:18 PM I still use my 1977 PS-3750 daily and it works like new. Those '70s Sonys were great. :)

JohnVF 02-21-2009, 02:13 PM I love how my Pioneer PL570 is its big and has lots of shiny parts. What I love about my Systemdek is that it is pretty and wood and sounds better than my Pioneer.
What are we talking about again? I love the random-ness of the first post. Right on.

Whoah, belt drive pants ! :thmbsp:

Sir.Byrd 02-22-2009, 10:34 PM Rarely is a thread a statement and not a question.

Rhubarb 02-23-2009, 01:01 AM Are these things much like licking the tongue of a small cat which one might keep as a pet? Although, surely one must have the day in the end. Even if we are ruling with an iron fist we all know that these are the rules of both night and day and evening. Can we not both ignore the dusk along with the plasticized Sony table of turning?
