....Unlike DSK's, this is one that's currently full of lots of STUFF/CRAP (and alot of it lawn/garden related), but at least I finally got the new "minimalist" garage rig running.
Minimalist because prior, I had to bi/tri amp the top boxes, use a digital crossover and multiple pro amps, concoct a funky interface between home preamp phono plugs to pro crossover XLR inputs etc.
Now I installed passive xovers (the new SR4735X/F xover) and can run with any ol' system. NOT quite the same sound, or power, but fine background music while trimming hedges or quaffing a beer on the "Tar Bar" (driveway).............
Here is the front end; simple cheap-o preamp, two small (heavy) amps, and a CD player. ($750 in the front end)

and the rest of the rig.................
(Bottom, JBL 2245H 18 inch in 8.8 ft cab tuned to about 28hz)
then CS3115, (fifteen inch 2226H, 8 inch M209-8A, one inch 2426H) (the subs can be run from the preamp sub output and a third IRD amp hidden behind the others, but this doesn't seem to sound as good as just running the top boxes full range. Part of it may be getting the levels matched right, and part of it may be trying to run two 2245's off one amp. May have to get one of the pro amps out and try again.............)

This still doesn't give you the idea; I'm gonna have to back up 50 feet and show you the patio furniture/beer drinking sweet spot on the driveway.:D

Didn't you once work for the CIA in psy-ops?

Fantastic setup.

Funny how it is always such simple set-ups that always seem to piss off the neighbors ;)

Simple but effective!
Anyway, I put way more effort into not disturbing them than you might believe; I grew up there, then thirty years later bought the place from my folks, so I know the neighborhood.
When I moved back in and installed the deck system, I walked all the neighbors yards with the volume at satisfying levels, to judge the level at their place. That system is aimed towards a woods and the house shields/deflects alot of the sound.
The garage system is aimed at the 85 year old neighbors who have lived next door for 40 years. They spend most of their time in a finished "walk-out" basement watching TV and have NEVER complained.
Plus I keep the volume moderate and listen to mostly jazz, acoustic, etc. I'm just not a rocker!
I think if my music tastes were different, I'd draw the flak.
Actually, the neighbors across the street said they like hearing my tunes...................sort of a soundtrack for the neighborhood, I guess.........................

I have another complete pair of these big boys, and last week at our annual 4th of July party we used them for a live band in my backyard...................my buddy insisted on playing the sound effects CD (think jackhammer)............I let that last about 30 seconds.........................:p:

It must be nice to live in a neighborhood like that. Most of my neighborhood is pretty stuck up (won't even respond to the neighbor wave).

I'd still love to have a set like that though. :D

This one, we throw a block party and 70% of the households turn out. (guess who spins the tunes..............) :p:

What function does the thing in the middle with the black seat and two round tires serve? And what would the chances be of getting that rig past the wife and into the house?

That would be my old trusty mower; right behind it is an aerator I use now and then.

Actually, my wife has let this rig into the finished basement family room, and I use the twins down there right now for HT. Upstairs, forget it unless she is out of town for the week on business!! She doesn't share my interest, but likes listening to the deck stereo now and then.....................

I listen to music, she watches TV...................I hardly watch TV at all anymore............'bout the Weather Channel is it, and I ain't kidding.

Man, that system has enuff power to turn goat p*ss into gasoline. And back again ! LOL, Sandy G. PS- I WOULD like to hear Foghat's "Slow Ride" turned up to a moderately warm level on it, though....Yeah, I came of age in the '70s..just never grew up...

I don't listen to them loud very often. They (like many horns) sound good at lower levels, too. But when you NEED to party...............
