Check this out. I wonder if it's a one-off or a new US maker. The seller has a bunch of other magnetics components for sale as well, mostly industrial.

Those are made by Hammond. Used 'em before....good stuff.

I thought I had seen all of the Hammond configurations but apparently not. Do they wind in the US? I thought Hammond's production was all Canada and overseas.

I may be wrong, but the ones pictured look identical to the SE types I bought from Parts Express this year. Yep, they were made in Canada. http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?&DID=7&Partnumber=122-100 Note the Hammond's I got did not have the "plugs" on the bell caps as the one pictured on PE's site.

Well, I'll consider it settled. How did the transformer perform, and how are you using them?

I liked 'em just fine. Have used Hammond's in many projects and restoration work. The one's I mentioned were used in a 300B SE project. They aren't any different than any other iron I've ever encountered in that it takes a while for them to settle in and do their best.

I have chased down a lot of top grade output iron from all over the globe and then been chagrined to hear a SE 2A3 amp built on an old 'scope chassis with the small 125 series iron. It rocked the room with a pair of Moth Cicada speakers. maybe that was a SE 6L6 triode amp... Anyway the iron was about $25 a pop and left little if anything to wish for in fidelity. It makes my two pairs of Magnequest FS-030 iron look kinda unnecessary at more than 10X the price. The Hammond 125 series' easily altered impedance is a real bonus for experimenters. Run a 2A3, 45, VT-52 or a 10Y in the same amp with a few quick changes. It's a tweaker's delight.
