Can anyone help me find a 15 pin connector (or equivalent) for a Tandberg 9200XD Reel to Reel remote control? Here is a picture of it:

Why? Is there something wrong with that one? :D

I will see if I can find anything... it looks a lot like the Cinch-Jones stuff that Nakamichi/ADS and dbx used back in the day, but maybe a metric version?

Will look in the Tandberg parts manuals & do some web searching, see if I can come up with anything for you.

John

P.S. That's the plug for the RC9, correct?

I am looking for a connector since I do not have one. The picture is from a Model 9 remote that came from an eBay listing. I have taken a couple of pix of the connector on the machine for size reference.

The Tandberg part number is 290139-9000X if that helps anyone.

Thanks... I found one of these sockets I had left from parting out a TCD 330. There was a UK patent marking on the mounting flanges, 990416. That didn't come up as valid in a search of the UK patent database though. I tried it with the GB or EP prefixes, didn't recognize it either way.

I was hoping to identify the maker this way as they probably made both the plugs & the sockets, which are actually 2-pin sockets stacked in an array and bolted together down the middle between the two rows.

Any of you folks from Norway able to shed some light on this plug from the RC9 remote control? Anyone got an RC9 that can inspect or open the cover on the plug & look for manufacturer info?

Anyone else seen this plug/socket before in another application? Someone else must have used this type of connector back then, I seriously doubt Tandberg tooled it for one accessory plus there's the UK patent reference.

Thanks,

John

Hi,

I'll talk to my wife about this socket. She used to work for Tandberg in that era along with her parents. I do know that the TCD cassette decks and the 9100XD deck used the same connector with the identical pinout. I'll post what I can find out.

Thanks! Keep in mind the OP is actually looking for the male plug, he has the socket already. Any info on either will be useful though.

Yes, will check on information concerning both plug and jack and who made them for Tandberg. It's an unusual connector for sure. This remote system made it's debut on Tandberg Language Lab equipment.
