long term listener, first time caller - so to speak.
i collect records and often come across cheap, half-way decent looking gear and tend look up what i have come across on google when i get home, just to see if it is worth going back for as i've always fancied the progression to a "proper" hifi.
never having found anything worth the journey back until now..
i discovered a sansui au 2200 in the back of a charity shop at the weekend for 15 pounds! needless to say the same shopping trip also included the purchase of a pair of behringer 1Cs, a technics turntable+ a few cables!!!
although pleased as punch with my new sound, being a mechanical engineer, i always want to know more than i probably need to especially about the things that i spend alot of time using.
i do also appreciate that amplifier electronics is not my field of expertise, so i hope in registering in this forum i firstly can learn from your collective knowledge and in time be able to offer constructively with my experience.
i eagerly anticipate many an enlightening discussion...
