I will soon begin to restore my Thorens TD-111. My plan is to rewire the tonearm (Grado Labs Reference), Replace the RCA cables & power cord and to refinish the plinth.
For the tonearm, I was planing on buying the Cardas braided tonearm cable. What I'm not so sure about is how to connect the tonearm cable to the RCA cable. Is there a better way than the stock connector board thing? (check out the pic)

Nice! I actually saw your turntable on Analogue Depot just the other day. What kind of feet do you have on there?

Just cheapies from Parts Express. (Well, they used to be cheap, the price has gone up the last year or so.)

I have moved away from spikes/cones on tables...going back to rubber feet, which provide better isolation. Spikes/cones looks cool, but in my system, they rob bass definition.

Now I only install them if a customer insists.

learned that with my td166 experiments. its almost as if the spikes act like a bass siphon.

now I'm using an MDF bottom, with squash balls as feet.
