just over one minute, this moving video caught my eye,

a little info first,

'The "Eyes Right" command is the biggest complement troops on parade
can pay and is reserved for dignitaries in reviewing stands.
A lone young Belgian boy is waiting to salute the Canadian troops passing
by who had been attending a memorial service.'

My nephew sent me a power point set of slides showing the landing at Trenton of the bodies of some fallen heroes. The convoy of hearses carryin the bodies to Toronto was met all along the 401 (now named the Highway of Heroes) by police cars stopped with the officers out saluting. Every bridge over the highway was massed with citizens and often fire department trucks. There were flags draped over the railings and they were met in Toronto by the fire department, all saluting.

Any AK'ers wanting to see it PM me your email address as it is over 3.5 megs.

Yep, saw that video. Very little effort on the lad's part, that meant a great deal to the troops.

hmm wonder what the location or event was?notice the youngin' is dressed in what appears to be a vintage canadian highlander uniform[complete with kilt!]if this was as stated in belgium,a very great many canadians fought and died there..and they do remember and respect it even today...and if not for that reason alone...take another look at the video...those are our troops, both then and now, typical canadians..i mean c'mon it's a little kid saluting in full uniform, and a canadian uniform in a foreign country at that!...good for them, totally the right and cool thing to do...

the only other info i found was gleamed from viewer comments,

"Canadian Army does a march and review past a small European boy in a hand made Seaforth Highlanders of Canada uniform to commemorate the D-Day landings of 1944"

and

"I believe that it's a replica of the WWII Canadian Highland Regiment uniform, with a Corporal's rank on his sleeve."

Unfortunately the video was too dark to tell but I would have guessed the Black Watch tartan as it is quite dark. In WW I there was a safe house in Belgium called the TOC-H and a society was later formed bearing that name. My Dad was a member of that TOC-H society and I had the good fortune while on a trip to Britain of accidentaly visiting the church that is the burial site of its patron.

Even after knowing what was going to happen, my eyes still ended up with a wee bit of water in them.

Thanks for the link.
