I have quite a few Columbia 6-eye and RCA Shaded Dog discs that are in the 140-160 gram range. We all know there are plenty of 180-gram new releases. Last night, I washed an early London ffrr that seemed exceptionally thick. After setting it on the mini digital scale, the monster topped out at 202 grams! Anyone have a heavier LP?

200g Dire Straits Brother In Arms.
My first pressing of The Doors "Morrison Hotel" is exceptionally thick with a fairly quiet surface.

Oddly enough, I pulled out an album I'd not listened to before last night. It was absorbed from my Dad's collection a while ago, but I just now got to it. My first thought was, "Damn that's a heavy disk.
Tony Aless and his Long Island Suite - Roost Records
Late 50's I would say and it weighed in at 217 g. Sounds fabulous and some really nice jazz. Good question Sam.

I have a handful of recent (last few years) releases that are 220gram, I think that is the highest they go now. There was also a rumor of the plant that pressed the 220 not doing them at that weight anymore. But I am not sure. What I AM sure of, is that those are some HEAVY records!
