I just ran across an absolutely mint TD-126 MKIII Electronic, Anniversity Edition, with an SME 3009 mounted. The table is lovely, and has a good rep as far as I can determine, but it does seem a little pricey: $1500 usd?
Any comments?

Way too high! You should be able to find a TD 126 MkIII for $150 to $350.
The SME 3009 arm could be gotten for $300-350.

Yep, those are really optimistic prices.

Yeah I wondered about that. Though mint, and a Centennial Edition (not Anniversary like I said above), c/w AT cart, it did appear too high. He has another one, without tonearm for $350, but it has some stupid plexiglass cover over the plinth and I'm not sure if I can remove it or not. I have a couple of spare tonearms - Mayware Formula IV and an SME 3009, so perhaps that is the better way to go.
But the other one is like brand new!!
You might want to do some additional researches also. IIRC the MkIII is not the one of the series to buy as Thorens changed the speed control circuit or something similar. I did a bit of searching and from one of the sites came this snippet:
The Td 126 was a further development. The TD 126 MkIII however got a lower rating when comparing it to the earlier TD 125, the simpler TD 160, the TD 126 MkI and MkII, because of the use of a tachometer (like in the TD 105 and TD 110). In the TD 126 MkIV this method was abandoned and the Mk IV has better stability.
