Have any of you heard anything from the new album American Soldier?

The album features songs inspired by interviews with war veterans conducted by singer Geoff Tate, who was intent on telling their story using their words.

After speaking with soldiers who served in various conflicts—from World War II to Iraq—Tate turned their firsthand experiences from the frontlines into an unflinching musical examination of the life of a solider and the consequences of war.

haven't heard it, didn't realize they were still around. Haven't heard anything from them since "Operation Mindcrime" (IMHO one of the best concept albums ever ).

have you heard the new album?, have they changed their style at all?

I think maybe I'll have to check it out.

I hear March 31 is the release date (according to Rhino, the label.)

I have everything from their first, self-titled LP through Operation Mindcrime 2 released in 2006. I notice a change in sound in every release along the way. Geoff and the others have always felt free to experiment, and it shows in their work over the years (while still maintaing that Queensr˙che sound.) Although there has been some band member changes through the entire course of their career, they have mostly been guitarists. I am looking forward to its release and also picking up a copy of their last released title, Take Cover, which is a collection of cover tunes.

Great band! :thmbsp:

Have pre ordered my copy through Amazon, Should be interesting. If you care to catch up with these guys post 1990's excellent "Empire", 3 good ones are; Tribe, Q2K, Sign Of The Times. Queensryche seems like there only in it for the music, Nothing fancy, No big stage shows. Just pure, Simple Rock! Been a fan for a long time.

I heard the single , look it up on youtube ..... I found it pretty boring , not sure what happened to these guys , but i have not liked any of the writing after "Hear in the now frontier" anything after that is just subpar writing to me , the songs never get far with me , where are the choruses ? I think without Degarmo in the band as a fulltime member they lost a lot of the magic , too bad as i loved the band , saw them on the warning tour & many times since ...
It also bums me out they keep hiring guitar players who are average at best ....... I'll check out smaples whne the new album hits , but i have little hope as the last few i bought just collect dust :tears:
