Ahh. There's so many, but if there only has to be one..............

Led Zepplin - Stairway to Heaven.....

What's yours?

Well, you already voted Stairway, that's mine, so +1 on that. I know, it's overplayed and all that, but just give it a good close listen, and feel the majesty in that song. Amazing progression, interesting lyrics, breathtaking solo, Stairway has it all. Voodoo Child slight return by the Hendrix Experience is in a close second. The first minute has everything you could ever expect from rock. I have to nominate a third, Bridge over Troubled Water, best vocal performance of all time. Enjoy the tunes! :music:

I've been debating with myself lately about that question.

A tune I heard for the first time last year has constantly been "present" in my head, meaning I constantly keep going back to it.

The song is SRXT from Bloc Party. It's certainly one of the, if not THE best "actual" song for me. Now, I have to decide whether or not it is an all-time favorite... So many to choose from!

So many greats - Layla, Stairway, Sympathy for the Devil. I think some others up there are Rock 'n Roll Hootchie Koo, Jimi's All Along the Watchtower and the one I'll pick to be different:

Badge by Cream :thmbsp:  Written by George Harrison.

Highway 61 Revisited performed by Johnny Winter

It really depends on what I'm listening to at the time. My wife has heard me tell her many, many times "this is the best R&R song ever" and it's probably never been the same song twice.

Yep, you got it right early in the game, on both counts.

whenever that song is on, its got one volume and only volume only. and that is as loud as you can crank it before it hurts.

i don't think i could pick a favorite. but this one is up on the list. so crankable.

I love the studio version on Second Winter. Just saw Johnny last week in Rochester, NY. Wife and I got right in front of Johnny for encores and last song was Highway 61 Revisted on that classic '63 Thunderbird. He aslo played Miss Ann but it was weak compared to Second Winter.

He's only 65 but looks frail.

There's a great rare release called Come On In My Kitchen. If you're a Johnny fan pick it up or download.

Impossible to pick just one . . . but it would be a Beatle song. So I picked a few Beatle songs that I feel would that would fit the title of Best Song:
