I wonder if anyone here uses it? No affiliation, of course...
I have been using it for a few months and I find it to be:
1. Technically unstable...crashes a lot and when a song reloads, and somehow I end up with two copies of the song sometimes...weird.
2. Doesn't have some prime artists of interest to me...BUT
3. It does have a pretty good selection and it is
4. Free, and the ads are pretty unobtrusive...so I vote yes for Spiralfrog.
Its like, you browse around and you find maybe one album by one artist, none for a few and then, POW, 15 Coltrane albums....a bunch of Thin Lizzy...Leo Kottke...the ORB's greatest hits...most Velvet Underground records, Nirvana, a ton of SST records, Sonic Youth...seems like every major Who album...tons of Miles Davis...even some comedy albums (Seinfeld), a little weak on classical, but there is something there too...no DEVO though...:tears:
If you could send me back in time and tell me when I was 13 that you would someday be able "download" this much music for free...I would have been like DUDE!, get me a time machine to the future, now! The complaints I have read about it remind me of this...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LoGYx35ypus
For free, it is a great service. I like free.:thmbsp:
