Hey Cats,
Been wanting one of these for a couple years now and I finally found one that I could afford, A Meridian 586 with it's remote no less, most of the time I've been finding them without remote and priced at market value and above. On it's way to my door, after arrival I'll be giving it a tune up. Man o man I can't wait!!! I don't expect it to better my modified Quad 66 CDP sound wise but it will be good enough to use as the secondary so I can rest the Quad from time to time as she's quite old and I want it to last forever.
I've read lots of good things about the 586 but I'd like to hear what's thought of it around here so please share your experience and tips on how to relieve a grumpy pickup as the unit I'm getting has fits when trying to read cds from time to time, I'm sure the tune up will take care of the problem but just in case it doesn't it would be good to have other avenues to check out for repair.
Thanks for reading my note.
Peace,
Preston
