As long as we're on the track of things we don't get, I have not been able to understand why these are considered landmark albums.
I love Van Morrison - he is near the top of my list. Astral Weeks is pretty close to the bottom of my list as far as Van albums. It's listenable, but I consider several others much more enjoyable.
Beach Boys - I haven't been a huge fan, but I did really enjoy a Brian Wilson concert a couple of years ago. I always thought they were fun to listen to, but I didn't see the "art" in Pet Sounds.
Am I alone here?

I never got Citizen Kane, either, but that's another forum, Rosebud.
