WAH! I think my Thorens might be dying! I've only just noticed that it seems to have a lesser rate of RPM than it should! I had purchased this Steely Dan album that started with Babylon Sisters, a track I'm really familiar with. It sounded a bit laggy, so I compared it with a digital recording. THE TURNTABLE IS SSSLLLOOOWWW!
Does this mean I have to kiss my turntable goodbye?
The belt is very new, and the platter bearing is freshly lubricated.
How do I diagnose and fix this slowness? Could it be the motor itself? The motor capacitors, perhaps?
