Its been a while since I have come up with news, so here's a long overdue summary of news.
Microsoft have apparently patented the use of the human body (http://www.ananova.com/news/story/sm_999310.html?menu=) as a conductive medium, e.g., a bus, over which power and/or data is distributed. Wow. The patent is here (http://patft.uspto.gov/netacgi/nph-Parser?Sect1=PTO1&Sect2=HITOFF&d=PALL&p=1&u=/netahtml/srchnum.htm&r=1&f=G&l=50&s1=6,754,472.WKU.&OS=PN/6,754,472&RS=PN/6,754,472).
Sony are celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Walkman, with plans for a cheaper rival (http://news.ft.com/servlet/ContentServer?pagename=FT.com/StoryFT/FullStory&c=StoryFT&cid=1087373418195&p=1045050946495) to Apple's iPod.
On the other hand, Apple also revamped their iPod (http://www.apple.com/ipod/)
Goodsound.com reviewed a very nice looking CDP (http://www.goodsound.com/equipment.shtml)
Lance Armstrong has won the Tour de France for a historic 6th time in a row, congratulations!
On the 6th of August is Jeans for Genes (http://www.jeans4genes.com.au/what.php) Day Australia. If you are in the land Down Under, please make a dontation as this is one great cause.
This time, a great timewater is this flash cartoon (http://www.jibjab.com/thisland.html)
