I bid on a parts X75 on the E.... because It was obvious that the owner wasn't exactly knowledgeable about things of this sort. The gamble was whether or not the biotracer arm would function. He followed my shipping instructions nicely and it arrived today intact. It is as filthy as I ever seen a turntable. Looks like it's been sitting on a shelf without it's long gone dust cover for a few years. The moment of truth; I put on a headshell and cart from my X65 and hit start. The arm glided to the Bette Middler sacrifice album and dropped perfectly. Sound from the left only but looking at the RCA cables it's a wonder that it's doing that good. Missing a couple of items that i'll post in the wanted classifieds but over all, for $75, it looks like 7's to me.

I tried the same gamble with this model and ended up with a dud (or something that would have cost an arm and a leg to be brought back to life). Congratulations, you really lucked out! :thmbsp:

Does look like it needs a good clean, but looks sweet. I'm not overly technical so anything over $20, $30, maybe $40 tops either has to work 100% or need very minor work. Crazy how nice things like that table can just be left for dead.

Well it seems that all it needed was a good cleaning. I used deoxit on the connections and windex and a toothbrush on the rest and it's performing pretty well. I'm going to download the manual tonight to get it properly dialed in. Otherwise I think it will loosen up nicely with use.
