View Full Version : Anyone into t00l?
DENNYDOG 04-09-2009, 09:31 PM I had to pull out my double lp of lateralus and give it a listen tonight. I just bought Guitar Hero World Tour and they have a couple of their songs you can play. What a blast.
They kind of remind me of Enya in a way. Enya on steroids if you will.

Drybasement 04-09-2009, 09:37 PM Tool reminds you of Enya? Whatever floats it, man. :D
I like Tool and have all of their albums. Well, I don't have Opiate. Wasn't that an EP or something? 10,000 Days is very good. I sure hope Maynard & Co don't wait too much longer for a new album. Keep it coming fellas.
Cheers
DENNYDOG 04-09-2009, 09:46 PM Actually lateralus is the only album of theirs I have. I just started getting into their music a little over a year ago.
I love most of their stuff. I just haven't gotten around to buying any of their albums except the one I mentioned. I think it's time to get in gear.
I did some searching and it looks like there are a few tribute albums that sound pretty decent. A gothic acoustic tribute to tool, the piano tribute to tool and even ROCKABYE BABY! LULLABY RENDITIONS OF TOOL for putting your baby's to sleep. I need to buy a few of the originals first though.
Mystic 04-09-2009, 09:47 PM I have tried like hell to get into this band, principally through the albums Ænema and Lateralus, both of which I have on vinyl. It ain't happening for me yet, man. Don't know that it will.
Mystic 04-09-2009, 09:47 PM Enya?
golana 04-09-2009, 09:51 PM DB, go get Opiate. its the hardest album theyn have with the most feeling.
Denny, There is one of those chamber music[strings] cd'sw I reaaly liked.
I'll just add this, I think I like A Perfect Circle, more.
vegabass25 04-09-2009, 10:09 PM My sis loves tool. Every time she comes over we crank it up on my stereo. I like some of the songs. They are indeed very good!
DENNYDOG 04-09-2009, 10:12 PM I'll just add this, I think I like A Perfect Circle, more.
Thanks for reminding me. I know that name always came up when doing searches for tool on Ebay.
Drybasement 04-09-2009, 10:28 PM Maynard Keenan is the voice of A Perfect Circle. And I was never a big fan of them. Go figure.

von.ah 04-09-2009, 10:46 PM Love Tool... But haven't listened for a long time. I think there will be a session this weekend.
I used to use AEnima as one of the system tuning albums.

And the guitar player for APC is the lead singer in his band Ashes Divide, which I like.
rushfan 04-10-2009, 09:18 PM I used to use AEnima as one of the system tuning albums.
Ditto! Ænima is a great recording and a mesmerizing listen. Grab a beer and turn the lights down for that one!
I'm a fairly new fan but consider myself a big one. I saw them in Montreal for the 10,000 Days tour and that was probably the most trippy concert that I have seen to date.
Danny Carey is a wicked, wicked drummer. I'm glad that I am mature enough to no longer need to have just one "top" drummer because Carey gives Peart a run for the money. They both blow my mind and that's all that I need to know.
