In my quest for LPs I've seen some pretty strange labels.

I'm always happy when I see the beautiful red or black RCA Labels......but I also see some really off-the-wall labels.

Has there been a thread or is there a list of labels to AVOID because they're usually poor quality and undesirable?

I'm gonna give this a bump. Maybe it's a bad or unanswerable question, but I'll give it another shot.

Maybe we can at least get some opinions on best and worst quality among some of the better-known record labels?

I've never thought that Motown paid much attention to production quality. I have some otherwise great Motown vinyl where excessive noise detracts from the listening experience.

On the flip side, I used to think that just about anything reissued by MoFi was as good as it gets until I started acquiring Cisco reissues. The Cisco stuff is absolutely phenominal! They've recently gone out of business but some of their catalog can still be found on line. Well worth the hunt!

Early ABC/ABC-Dunhill, Capitol/Apple and Motown were known for noisy and often off-center pressings.
RCA's were generally good, but I despised the Dynaflex era which were near tissue paper thin and warped easily.
