View Full Version : Van Halen-Gunner's(GNR) World Tour?
NeedForSpeed 04-11-2009, 01:34 PM Rumors are flying all over the www, Of a VH/GNR tour this year, Maybe as soon as July. Eddie interviewed in Guitar World a few months back and stated no tour until his son was done with school, And was also prepping for his upcoming marriage. He also stated he's been in contact with Diamond Dave, And scheduled recording a new LP "Sometime late 09" With a VH tour in 2010 to support it. Now it appears Axl ran into Eddie and teaming up on GNR's upcoming stadium tour was discussed and the Van Halen brothers got interested. Have read nothing on DLR's input. With "Chinese Democracy" a platinum LP, And the fan base of both bands, It would be quite a show. Axl has said the tour will happen with our without Van Halen, And will tour with the band that finished Chinese Democracy. Guess we will hear more of this as the days go by, If it happens, Come hell or high water, I'm there!
Danimal 04-11-2009, 01:54 PM I'll believe it when I see it. How long were we waiting for Chinese Democracy?
Arkay 04-11-2009, 01:55 PM After releasing Chinese Democracy, I don't expect to see them playing in Macau, and probably not in Hong Kong, either. :tears: Sure hope I'm wrong, though. That is one concert I would go to!

Pretty sure GNR will tour. With Van Halen? Don't think so. Then there's the issue of Dave and Axl co-existing. And who headlines, Who goes out first, Etc. It could blow up fast, Or they could battle each other, And bring out the best in both, Which would be lightning in a bottle.
davidk5 04-12-2009, 01:38 AM I just don't see It as G N R anymore with 1 guy left , plus will AXl even show up ?
And van halens track record has not been all that good & seeing as Vh's last tour was so pricey i'd hate to think what these tix cost .
As much as i love Van halen , ed for me has not played well since about 1998 :tears:

Well, We gotta call them something, AR owns the rights, So it is what it is. I saw the VH reunion last summer, And tickets were $65, For decent seats, A cheap date to see a living legend play.

vh would open for g'n'r, that's the way it should be.
JohnVF 04-15-2009, 08:26 PM I loved G n R prior to Chinese Democracy (tried to like it, but couldn't come around mostly because I hated the production, especially the gimmicky vocal sound...sounds like they used an auto-tune on Axl)...and I really like DLR Van Halen. So, if no Dave, and GnR playing Chinese Democracy, I guess I could miss it and not really feel bad at all. I'd love to hear the classic lineups of both, but that won't ever happen.
I'm with you, John. Tell you what, if they go out on tour I'll come up your way and we'll sit around and listen to VH 1&2, maybe Diver Down and Appetite for Destruction on the Sony's.
