As a Key's fan will I be pleased or disappointed?

View Full Version : Any Thoughts on Dan Auerbach's - Keep It Hid? elcoholic 04-12-2009, 10:23 AM As a Key's fan will I be pleased or disappointed? doucanoe 04-12-2009, 10:40 AM I just picked up the LP/CD Friday. I'm not very familiar with a lot of the Black Keys stuff other than youtube vids. When I saw it on the rack, I remembered that specialidiot said he had just saw Dan at 1st Ave. or something and seeing as how we have similar taste in music, I thought would take a flyer on it. Not sure how this solo effort compares, but I have been enjoying it quite a bit :thmbsp: RC wajobu 04-12-2009, 10:42 AM I haven't heard it yet, except some cuts on the radio (that sounded great). I'm quite familiar with the BK's and I think that solo work revitalizes other group projects; so that's good. rsfmotoman 04-12-2009, 12:53 PM You should be pleased...I was. The songs on the album are well written with the typical great Auerbach guitar work which I can't seem to get enough of. However, I much more prefer Patrick's drumming of the Black Keys. The beats on Keep It Hid are ok but they do not have that groove that Patrick Carney brings to the table. None the less, good stuff. elcoholic 04-12-2009, 04:20 PM Cool. me thinks I'll order it. specialidiot 04-12-2009, 11:18 PM Yep, as Doucanoe stated, I purchased the LP/CD combo and saw him at a local joint a couple of months back. I enjoyed his work pretty much. Not tops in my play list but I'll dig it out from time to time. winters860 04-12-2009, 11:20 PM Good album. Sounds, unsurprisingly, like The Black Keys. |
