View Full Version : Favourite Judas Priest Song
jsarsfield 04-12-2009, 08:18 PM Just wondering what is your favourite Priest song to rock out hard on is
Mine is from British Steel - The Rage
That song gets me pumped like no other the guitar solo is perfect and those big power chords are rock beyond belief and thats not even mentioning the KILLER vocals .... Talk about pipes:music: Just a song that begs to be turned up louder and louder
Debassige 04-12-2009, 08:29 PM Diamonds and Rust :music:
Tripqzon 04-12-2009, 08:35 PM I have to say "Victim Of Changes".
"Diamonds and Rust" and "The Green Manalishi" are right up there as well.
Scuzzer 04-12-2009, 08:38 PM Absotively posalutely Victim of Changes. It's got the guitars, it's part ballad part straight ahead banging, it's longer than the normal 3 and a half minutes and best of all the lyrics are pretty cool. The boys really nailed it with that one.
edit: We posted at the same time Tripqzon, but I have to say I like the cut of your jib...
Tripqzon 04-12-2009, 08:39 PM Almost forgot "Better By You, Better Than Me" and "White Heat, Red Hot".
O.K. I can't pick just one. They have so many kick ass songs.

I totally agree. "Victim Of Changes" song has everything a Judas Priest fan desires.
Scuzzer 04-12-2009, 08:44 PM My three favorites are the same as your original three and they're best heard back to back to back on Unleashed In The East. I thought I found heaven when I heard that back in 1979.
avguytx 04-12-2009, 08:46 PM If I had to pick one..... "Out In The Cold". Man, that opening son friggin' jammed in concert and on the Judas Priest Live CD. I blew up a few subs with that track back in the car audio days.
Tripqzon 04-12-2009, 09:03 PM My three favorites are the same as your original three and they're best heard back to back to back on Unleashed In The East. I thought I found heaven when I heard that back in 1979.
Now you've done it. I just put it on for a listen.
Tripqzon 04-12-2009, 09:50 PM "Delivering The Goods" is another song dear to my heart.

Trower 04-12-2009, 11:08 PM Tie between "Diamonds and Rust" and "Out in the Cold", both reached there perfection on the infamous Live album:rockon:

Almost forgot "Better By You, Better Than Me" and "White Heat, Red Hot".
O.K. I can't pick just one. They have so many kick ass songs.
Love the guitar intro to BBYBTM...
I have to cast a vote for Beyond the Realms of Death
similost 04-14-2009, 11:46 AM This can't even be considered.. Every Priest song is considered a favorite... It's like asking which kid is your favorite.. Would you really want to say and piss the others off????

nothing from Rocka-Rolla?
prisoners 04-14-2009, 04:46 PM Never Satisfied
Mallachi 04-14-2009, 04:50 PM WOW! That's a loaded question for me. I have all their albums. I really like the older stuff so I have to say the entire Sad Wings of Destiny album! OH! Then there's Rocks Rolla too! Crap, I like them all.
zenith2134 04-14-2009, 06:13 PM I have most of their stuff as well, but I still love the criminally-fueled powerhouse work on "Breaking the Law" from "British Steel"
Such energy. Great to BLAST.
Tripqzon 04-14-2009, 06:24 PM I love priest , I think Turbo is the only album i do not like .....

"Desert Plains" kicks ass too.
davidk5 04-16-2009, 03:08 AM "Desert Plains" kicks ass too.
Yeh i really liked Point of entry , not a fav by most .
I gotta get out & see this summers tour , they were just killer last summer !
My 1st concert was Judas priest 1982 world vengeance tour with Iron maiden opening , they were touring number of the beast , what a night !!
Marantz Man 04-16-2009, 08:04 AM Run of the Mill from Rocka Rolla. Fantastic song, it just winds itself up from the slow start to the intense ending. I always feel quite drained after listening to that one.
It's also a shame that the 'Caviar & Meths' short track was originally going to be a 14 minute epic.

My first concert was '81 Judas Priest at the Chicago Ampitheater Point of Entry tour. I wasn't a huge fan of "Entry" at the time but Desert Plains was awesome live. The show was re-broadcast on radio so I get a chance to relive it occasionally.
I would have killed to see 'em with Maiden.
rickr15 04-16-2009, 06:52 PM Wow!! I saw that same tour. What a night that was. What I can remember of it anyway. :smoke:
I saw that tour but they had Uriah Heep opening for them in Denver. They played the old Big Mac (Machnicols arena).
As far as favorites I think Tower Boss pretty much covered all of them and even some I havent though of in 25 years.
Rex Everything 04-16-2009, 07:30 PM Almost impossible to single out one song.
Very happy to see at least a few folks remember and have respect for Rocka Rolla, such a killer album.
How bout the live version of Diamonds and Rust from Unleashed In The East, has to be my favorite right now.

prisoners 04-16-2009, 09:09 PM As much as I love JP, the last two Halford albums were a step above. I've seen Halford's solo concerts three times and JP many more, but Rob's band totally rocked! There's a documentary on dvd that shows the story of Fight (Rob's first solo effort) complete with concert footage. Just amazing.

I saw him tour as just "Halford" opening for Queensryche who inturn were opening for Iron Maiden. Killer show from all bands involved :thmbsp:
villerat01 04-16-2009, 09:23 PM Turbo Lover would have to be my favorite, awesome chorus........
n8thesk8 04-16-2009, 09:43 PM Most of my favorites are from British Steel. N8
BigNate 04-17-2009, 12:14 AM You've Got Another Thing Comin' gets my vote, but then I used to put Screaming for Vengeance on the turntable at night when I was a teenager, put it on repeat and go to sleep to it, so maybe I'm suffering some subliminal aftereffects. :D
By the way, awesome user name n8thesk8. They used to call me Nate the Skate when I was a kid. (My dad still does sometimes.)

That's really cool , i think i too have a copy of that show somewhere in my collection from the radio broadcast ... "Desert plains" is a killer live song , still love that live screaming for vengeance live dvd , the band was on fire !
