I am contemplating an upgrade to my VPI Scout’s tonearm (currently fitted with a Dynavector 10X5) from the 'normally aspirated' JMW-9 to the 'turbo' JMW-9-Signature arm. Does anyone have any firsthand experience with the Signature and can anyone compare the two? Or would it be a better to upgrade my cartridge? The money on the table shall not exceed $700 for any upgrade…

I’m upgrading because I have a loose connection somewhere (probably in the tonearm where the wires come out of the top and into the Lemo connector or thereabouts – not at the cart) and will have to be without it anyway if I decide to get it fixed. VPI will swap the tonearms for the price difference listed on their web site. The ‘table is 2 ½ years old and has been moved three times during its life span, which may have contributed to the wire’s early demise (although I lovingly handle it and ship using original box and materials).
