Check the DMB website for a free DL from the new CD.
Only problem with it is that it is a 128K bit rate file. Sounds good though.
I'm not sure when this new studio album will be released. If you pre-order, you get 8/9/08 Alpine Valley soundboard as a bonus. I work there but my daughter got married that day last year. :(

What does Dave Matthews do? I can remember hearing the name sometime back in the 90s I think. Somebody told me that he was the lead singer of REM.

Yeh, you're right. Sorry.
For whatever reason, DMB is just one of those bands I used to sorta like, but just can't listen to anymore. I guess I need to stipulate that this song is probably worth every penny you have to pay for it (nothing). :D
Damn it, I just threw salt in the wound. I just can't seem to help myself.

I used to party in college (Charlottesville, VA) with the DMB violin player, on occasion.
He fiddled a mean version of the Stones' "Country Honk" while another cat played the acoustic guitar one sunny afternoon while many of us were feeling a tad "shiny."

I very much like the violin when used in a rock or jazz context (Jean Luc Ponty w/Zappa, Scarlet Rivera w/Dylan, etc.) or with bluegrass, of course (Vassar Clements). I'd really like to hear it more often. However, I find DMB's material to be a yawn.
My son, also not much of a DMB fan, did enjoy DMB's free show down at that better Virginia university in Blacksburg :D when he and John Mayer played their benefit last year. He particularly raved about the violin player. Seems to be a common thread here that free DMB music is worth the price of admission.

I should have mentioned that my college days were pre-DMB.
Only later did I find out that the cat with the violin at many of our parties ended up in DMB.
Speaking of violins in rock, seeing Camper Van Beethoven cover the Stones' "Sweet Virginia" in Charlottesville at the "Mine Shaft" was pretty cool.
