Although I am "getting back into vinyl" my plan -- so far -- is to obtain only LPs of my sonically all-time favorite recordings by my favorite bands -- Yes, Pink Floyd, Genesis -- and a few others.

What is the best online or other source for 180 and 200g albums without paying an arm and a leg for them? :scratch2:

Start with Soundstage Direct. If you are after 'play' copies, be sure to check the clearance page for 'bend' copies.

I can make two suggestions, Buy from ebay or buy from ebay. But seriously you can find new copies in the 180gram or 200gram weights or just some near mint originals. I,ve only been going hard for about 20 months and have found it is better to buy one very good copy(which could cost you but shop around) than buy somthing your not going to be happy with, and lets face it good classic albums in excellent condition arn't cheap, but are definately worth while getting it may take longer but hey its a journey so enjoy the ride and sometimes auctions can be awesome to win at a price you didn't expect to get it for  Check out classic records.com probably the best new records you can get good weights and selections

I have 2 Dark Side Of The Moon LP's but will probably buy the new 30th anniversary issue which comes highly reccomened and can buy on ebay at a good buy now price

Happy hunting:D

I find Amazon to be an excellent source of lps both new and used.

Shop around carefully and make sure you have looked at all the available sellers before you buy......sometimes waiting and checking a couple times a day will get you a real bargain as some sellers sell too cheap--but these are sometimes gone in hours or even minutes of listing.

I primarily use Soundstage Direct now. I have in the past used Acoustic Sounds but they are slow to get new releases and don't offer an AK discount.

You might try

http://www.elusivedisc.com/

They're based in my hometown (Anderson, IN), and although I have only bought a replacement cartridge from them they seem to have a huge selection of vinyl.
