This past weekend I scored 50 lps (including several classical box and doulbe lp sets) for 90 bucks. 10 or 11 of the lps were .25/ea. !!! all vg+ or better. Anyway, I grabbed a copy of Stanley Jordan: Standards Vol. 1 on the Jazz Heritage label, an obvious reissue of the same Blue Note lp. It's a very nice pressing and sounds great. I confirmed my suspicion last night, as I do indeed already own the original. The original vinyl is inherently "shinier" with slightly better sonics and DMM. The deadwax of the Jazz Heritage has DMM inscribed on it as well.
So, the question is... does anyone else have experience with Jazz Heritage issued LP's? And, are they a division of Musical Heritage Society?
My only complaint would be the black and white cover; nevertheless, I could understand this if JH is primarily a "record club" type of company that offered subscriptions/discounts.
Thanks in advance for any info!
