I have been reading so much about the A 25 on here and I love the way they look. Are they as good sounding or close to an AR4x?

How much do they go for? I seem to get the impression they are not as expensive as AR4's.

Thanks in advance for any replies!

I have no idea any more.... They got popular since I purchased a set @ $125 including shipping.

Check EBay and look at finished auctions.

Last year, I drove almost 50 miles round trip and gladly paid $63 for my pair.

I see them pop up on CL for $40-$200, usually closer to $200 than $40, which is what I bought mine for. I guess they're worth what you're willing to pay...

I think they are FAR superior to the AR-4x, but that's just my opinion. They are not as expensive as AR3as, more like the AR-2ax land of pricing I guess.

Unless you get lucky at a thrift store or a yard sale.....expect a minimum of $100, IMO.

Wow, I drove about 5 and paid $70. I guess I got a better deal than I thought. :D

$100. seems to be a good number IMO. Could go more or less, but I think a decent set can most likely be had for around that number.

Gearhound... I did find a pair in a Frederick antique shop in 2007.... for $28.50 + Maryland sales tax. However..... they were sloppily painted white, and the drivers were barely held in adequately with some mishmash of screws. The drivers all worked.... figured they'd be good for parts at that price !

Got mine at a thrift, but having listened to them a while now, I'd say they're worth every penny of $100-150 in nice shape.

My last three pair cost $30, $30, & $25. I still have one pair. Great speakers.

Very, very nice speakers considering what price they can be purchased for, nowadays. If there werent so many of them they would go for "quadruple+" todays prices.

A25's can be found fairly cheaply at yard sales and thrift shops for just a few dollars however I do agree with RebelKat's statement above that the going rate for these speakers is around $150 and maybe a bit higher for a good clean pair. Even at that price, and original caps, they are well worth the money:thmbsp:
