I have a radio craftsmen tuner and its very nice with the chrome chassis, works very well too. But I think this one is ready for the junk pile, you couldn't ever restore the chrome, lots of rust too. It does have a nice set of knobs. It would be ok if you planed on putting in a cabinet and never seeing the chassis. Its something I would pass on, unless it was free or 5$, could always use the tubes.

Rechroming something like that wouldn't be THAT expensive.

They don't do rechroming in California anymore, trust me I have an older car, if I want my bumpers rechromed, I need to send them off to arizona, i also hear they do horrible jobs.

Me too! My buddy and I just restored his '63 VW Beetle. Factory red, moon roof etc... Wanted original look and parts. Well, the chrome had pitted on the bumpers. We took a trip to Arizona and got them re-chromed. California..I love it, but sometimes I hate it.

It also goes with paint, if I remember no matter how many 1000's$ you spend on a paint job the maximum warranty is 5 years. Since california outlawed all the chemicals used to produce a long lasting paint job, we are now forced to use waterbase. If you have paint sent to you from outside of CA, and you paint your own car, its big time fines and jail time. If I ever get my body work done on my 71 swinger I will have to drive out of state for a good paint job.
