I received my AU-317 a couple of days ago and it sounds gorgeous. My 2nd Sansui amp and I believe they sound very warm and "tubelike" My question is to hear both channels equally the balance control has to be at the 11:00 position. I know that`s what the control is for but should I be concerned? Is there a fix?

There's a middle "click" point. If that's also at 11.o'clock then you need to pull the knob off and re-align it. Simply slide it off. Also check that the volume totally disappears on the opposite channel when the control is turned to each extreme.

If the click point is 12 o'clock, first step would be to give both the Balance control and the Volume Control a good DeOxit treatment - do all other switches and controls while you're at it. You'll have to pull the case and the front panel off to get at them properly.

Try cleaning all of the controls.

Other than that, the signal would have to be traced out to find the problem.
