What else can you tell me about the SL-1800? With the exception of a Sansui when I was in high school, I've had Thorens (TD160 & TD145 MKII) all of my adult life. I know the Technics are regarded well around here. There's one that became available locally and if I can buy it right, I may just snatch it up to see what it is all about. About all I know about it is that it is a pure manual (big plus) suspended table. I don't know how the deck is regarded as far as tonearm, features, etc. Does this one have the adjustable VTA? I doubt if it would be an upgrade for me, but it may be an interesting lateral and my first exposure to a DD table. Are there any issues to be aware of?

If it is a MK II them it will have adjustible VTA.

And it will be pretty similar to an SL-1200 (though not exact).

The tone arm wires have been Called "dark" so a re-wire could prove beneficial.
