View Full Version : Pioneer SX-450 Help Please !
Hi All
Scored or should I say rescued a little guy. It has a bad channel and I need a service manual. If anyone has one I'd gladly pay the printing cost, download etc...
Don't want to spend much on this. It'd make someone a nice bedroom unit. I don't need it, but don't want to put it to the curb.
Heading to Echowars this Friday, If someone could send the info it would be a great help.
Thanks
Army
PS
We (EW & I) were thinking if it could be repaired inexpensively we would put it up for donation to AK
Ya know for a reasonable donation to AK ya get a sweet little SX-450
Just need some help with that service manual ;)
Cheers

EchoWars 08-09-2004, 10:47 PM Hey ya'all!!
No SX-450 manuals? Figure we'll buy one if we have to, but would like to keep this one cheap. Even a schematic would be adequate.
Thanks!
EW
I should have one but its stored away from my house. Will let you know later in the week unless someone else comes up with one.
Will send a photocopy.
Hey Doug
That would be great !
Let us know when you get a chance !
Much appreciated !

mhardy6647 08-10-2004, 08:12 AM Funny, I too have an SX-450 with one channel out :-)
Found mine at the dump. Cosmetic condition is too good to throw it away. I have the owner's manual but not the service lit.
Good luck... it's a cute little receiver and has a good reputation to boot.
B3Nut 08-10-2004, 11:46 AM A 450 is definitely worth fixing...they're very musical and sweet.

dr*audio 08-11-2004, 08:00 AM I have the SX-450 complete service manual. I also have a schematic for the SX-780. Guess my memory is still intact! Let me know if you need me to send it to you, EW. Rather than scan it, I can just mail you the manual.

ojTHEd 03-09-2005, 10:03 PM Thought this might be a good place to ask. I'm going to go check out an SX-450 for personal purchase tomorrow. The guy doesn't have speakers handy so I thought I'd bring along some small ones. I have a pair of 6 Ohm, 60watt Klipsch's from a Promedia kit. They're nice and small, so are perfect for testing.
Question is... will this receiver deal well with 6 Ohm speakers? Thanks!
EchoWars 03-09-2005, 10:44 PM No problem...
ojTHEd 03-09-2005, 10:48 PM EchoWars, that was for me, huh? Thanks!
OvenMaster 03-10-2005, 04:36 AM ojTHEd, I had one up til recently running KEF Coda 8's at 6 Ohms. No problem at all.
Tom
asynchronousman 03-10-2005, 04:46 AM What would this donation you mentioned amount to? :scratch2: :thmbsp:
ojTHEd 03-10-2005, 07:30 AM Thanks, OvenMaster. I'll bring along those little Klipsch's, then.
