I just happened on this site recently. I still haven't looked around (at all).
I have been into vintage tube hi-fi for around 15 years now, I'm a casual enthusiast. I started in my early 20's with old magnavog console monsters and artfully arranged 3 of them into a monstrous array of noisemaking power. This led me to find more hi-fi pieces, my first was a Pioneer SM-83 integrated unit for $20. A few new caps and a rectifier later I was jamming away. I still have this one. I have had various tube integrated units along the way: Altec, Fisher, Eico, etc... I am currently using a nice Fisher X 202-b which has been re-worked and I just got some new Electro-Harmonix 7591 output tubes paired with a pioneer pl-41 turntable. EDIT: I may slap my NOS tubes back in till I check the grid resistor!
I am into listening to vinyl records of all many genres: jazz, blues, punk, metal, funk, soul, disco, electro, country, rock, new wave, etc....
I am also in the works of homebrewing a record cleaner.
Whewww! That was wordy!
Anyway I have a few questions but will dig through the stickies and search around before asking a question that has been asked thousands of times already.
Thanks in advance
PS: I'm into Volvo turbos, hence the name turbo_wagon ;-)
