just a quick question .. i just acquired a set of hpm 100's :thmbsp:(SWEET) and now when i dial them up i get feedback through my turntable ..
is there any cure for this besides turning the volume down heheheh
anyway i have a technics 1200 MK2 running through a mixing board then to an old Yamaha amp .. just for some more info if i play Cd's or mp3's i can dial it up to a 100  without any feedback

any suggestions would be great

What is the ground wire hooked up to? Does the mixing board have phono inputs?

yes the mixing board has phono inputs and yes it has a chassis ground ..
do you think it might be just caused by the sound waves coming from the speakers causing feedback on the needle ??

Sometimes there is acoustic feedback if the speakers are too close to the turntable, however that's usually a lower pitched sound. Did you previously have the identical setup running with different speakers with no hum?

thanks for the reply .. before this i just had a cheap set of bookshelf speakers .. so i don't think i was getting quite the response from them .. so i think your right.. the hpm100's are in close proximity to the turntable but it is due to the limited size of the room that houses my little dj set up so i guess i will have to deal with it and play vinyl at a lower volume
thanks again
