This post if for anyone in the Nashville area. This is a craigslist ad for a Scott 222C integrated amp. Out of my budget but maybe someone can use it.

Yes,
They are excellent amplifiers.
Yes, they are not worth that amount of money even if all of the Telefunken tubes are there.
Sorry...

OUCH!!!!
Double Pass!
Now. . . if it was an absolutely mint condition unassembled, unopened, complete kit, I'd buy it at that price in a heartbeat!
THAT would be quite a collectors item.

Fat chance;) There was a guy trying to sell an unassembled Scottkit on eBay recently. It was an LT111 (AKA 370). The faceplate was from a 370 and some other parts were not original to the kit. Wanted something like over a thousand. NOT!
Yes, nice amplifier but not worth that much money. But you never go wrong if you try...

Yeah but.... just like with plastic model kits ( and I'm sure other items too) as soon as you break the seal and assemble it it becomes worth less than the kit. Sooo either you build it and take a "loss" , or keep it as a kit in which case it never fulfills it's intended purpose.
Hobbies and the collector market can be strange indeed, eh ?

For me it would depend on the condition.
Does it have a wood case? Do the four 7951s test as NOS? Teles? The fact that it is untouched is a bonus in some cases.
For a pristine 222C with a good quad of 7951s, Teles, wood case, I would consider $550 an OK price. In the current economic down turn a person is a bit optimistic asking that much though.

Yes, because it was completely restored and is also in excellent+ condition.
(All except where the thin chassis sagged at the inside edge of the PT.)
