Owner states there is a marking of 1P3934

It's going to be a late 60s Astro Sonic (transistorized) model. Shedradios (http://www.shedradios.com/mine.html) has some near misses from that period that have the 1P3xxx model numbers.

I agree that it's solid state, from the late '60's or early '70's.
