OK, actually yesterday's, but the site was down for maintenance :)

The D'Oyly Carte Opera Company
Gilbert and Sullivan's The Mikado

London OSA-1201 (1958)

If you think Opera is stuffy, you haven't listened to Gilbert and Sullivan. They love to poke fun at pompous officialdom, British or, in this case, Japanese.

This opera is the origin of the term Pooh-Bah - A pompous ostentatious official, especially one who, holding many offices, fulfills none of them.

Another $2 GW score, which looked pristine, but upon playing revealed that it had been much loved - lots of pops and clicks, perhaps it was oft played on a not-so-great turntable.
