A BIG THANKS to everyone who wished me a happy birthday. My wife is away this week, so it's been a somewhat "bleak" birthday for wishes and celebrations, EXCEPT for this place! <smile>

To set the record straight, my Birthday is the 19th, which ends in just less than 2 hours, so nobody missed it (yet)!

Thanks to all, but to reply to a few specific comments:

It is always "tomorrow" in Hong Kong, when you are in the U.S., but it is always "today" when you are in Hong Kong. I guess that means that although you can't be in two places at the same time, you can be in one place at two times? :D

You can't know. In fact, even I can't know for sure. I just trust what it said on my birth certificate, and what my parents and family say.

In my case, anything I can find without gluten. No real birthday cake, almost no restaurant or packaged foods... Can't even get a good plate of worms or endangered species, without it being spoiled by wheat-containing soy sauce! :sigh:

Nothing belated about it. Still 1 hour and 33 minutes to go!

And here I sit, celebrating my birthday with one of my favorite things... AK! [And before anyone tells me to "get a life", yes, I have been doing other things today!]


Actually, I mostly "celebrated" my birthday last Friday. I did some interesting things that day, like going on a tour of a US Navy Destroyer during the day and going to an outdoor movie in the evening (like a drive-in theater, but you sit on beanbag chairs on a lawn up on the podium of a building looking out over the South China Sea, surrounded by trees... really nice!). I've given myself a birthday gift, too: I ordered an Expedit shelf unit to house more of my records. So part of today was spent re-arranging stuff and getting rid of stuff, to prepare the space where it will go.

Thanks again for the nice wishes, folks! Just wish I could meet each of you in person, offer you each some birthday cake (even if I can't eat it!) and a toast! :beerchug: :thmbsp:
