Earlier today I got an AcousticSounds.com catalog in the mail, and looking in it I decided to order a new-press of AC/DC's 'Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap'. How good are the new-press releases of AC/DC?

The 180 gram AC/DC reissue series are mastered from the original tapes and sound pretty good--I have a few. That said, don't go out of your way to buy them if you have access to an original copy of the title you are looking for. Original vinyl of Back in Black, for example sounds fantastic and millions were sold. Look for the initials "RL" in the deadwax.

Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap came yesterday and you were right vinylreview. Sounds absolutely pleasureful. I was initially put off when I found that the liner notes in it were EXACTLY the same as in the CD version, even saying I was about to listen to a CD! That got me thinking 'Oh great...they just yanked the CD version's notes, is that gonna mean they used the digital CD master tapes too, instead of the analog originals?' Thankfully the 'CD mention' in the liner notes was the only hiccup with it. Flipped through one of the two Acoustic Sounds catalogs that came in the LP carrier with it while enjoying it. :rockon:
