Hey guys!

Found that tt at a garage sale yesterday (8$ along with 12 LPs) but I can't find good info on it.

Anyone with experience on it?

Is it a good performer? Anything particular I should check?

I'll have to replace the belt for sure and give it a thorough cleaning, but it does have a mighty nice plinth.

Came with a Shure cart but I haven't had time to check what model it is.

Thanks for any info.

Sky

I´ve found some images:

Supraisingly, I could not find any Lenco reference in http://www.vinylengine.com/ !

Yup, that's the one...

Indeed, not much info on the net for this one!

I know it's fairly heavy, seems well built.

Well, even if you can't get info, there's nothing like trying for yourself!

I took the turntable apart, at least what I could, and gave it a good cleaning, repainted the main plate (the part underneath the platter), replaced the belt (although I'll have to look for a narrower one, original if I can because this one 's rubbing against the speed selector guide), and replaced the stylus on the Shure-Realistic R47 EDT cart that was mounted on the tonearm.

I have to say I'm quite impressed with the quality of the sound produced by this TT/cart combo.

I don't know where that TT stands, quality wise, vs. my Systemdek, Kenwood or Technics, but I really like the looks of it and it seems well built although the tonearm feels a bit flimsy, but the plinth is reel veneer and not vinyl.

So the next step is to apply lemon oil to the plinth, that should be done tomorrow.

In the meantime, here are some pics:

The Lenco is now moved to its final (yeah right!) position and playing beautifully...

It's really nice to watch, has no hum at all, motor is dead quiet, it's really surprising since I knew nothing about that table at all...

A few specs:

-belt drive
-33/45 speed selector
-suspended chassis with 4 easily adjustable springs
-anti-skating
-removable headshell
-semi automatic (tonearm raises and platter stops at end of record but tonearm doesn't move back to stand)

I wish I had some figures to provide, i-e rumble and noise, stereo separation and such... maybe later!

I do recommend that tt highly, especially if you can find one for $8.00 :D
