Trower 05-19-2009, 11:39 PM http://pinkfloydarchives.com/DUKLPPF.htm vinylreview 05-20-2009, 12:24 AM My copy has: SHVL 815 A-2U; SHVL 815 B-2U. Thanks for the link, Trower. dualhead 05-20-2009, 09:08 AM Mine reads: SHVL 815 A-5, SHVL 815 B-6? Thanks for the replies, I'll have to check that link and see what exactly I have. dualhead 05-20-2009, 09:31 AM Still no luck. The insert has rounded corners, there is no barcode, and all the handwritten copyright jargon is there. Maybe this is a box-set refugee? Hmmm are you absolutely sure on the second set of numbers? dualhead 05-20-2009, 10:47 AM Hmmm are you absolutely sure on the second set of numbers? Yep. KeninDC 05-20-2009, 11:40 AM I will look at mine and use this thread as an excuse to play it. Ken dualhead 05-20-2009, 12:35 PM I will look at mine and use this thread as an excuse to play it. Ken Glad I could enable ya! I was listening to a Japanese Press Meddle last night. These two are my favorite Floyd LP's along with Piper. Mark W. 05-20-2009, 12:48 PM There would be no Bar code on a UK pressing of Animals since it's a 1977 Album and Bar codes first appeared on the second or third pressing of THE WALL if I remember correctly. So now some questions: What color is the Label? Is the inner sleeve cardboard? Does it have a 9" notch on the open end? Cause the closest thing I can find is a 7th pressing of the 1st issue but it would have a Plain White Lable to have that Matrix number (well close the your 6 would have to be a 7) the details I'm reading are on this page at Veron's site http://pinkfloydarchives.com/DUKLPPF.htm#Anim1 The two Box sets that it could have come from are nothing like you have described. dualhead 05-20-2009, 03:50 PM There would be no Bar code on a UK pressing of Animals since it's a 1977 Album and Bar codes first appeared on the second or third pressing of THE WALL if I remember correctly. Label is the multi colored photo style of sheep and dogs. Inner sleeve is cardboard. I saw no notch, I'm at work and will double check tonight. Stanton681EEES 05-20-2009, 05:27 PM Still no luck. The matrix for first issues goes up to -5 -6 making yours a first issue. Plus no bar code. dualhead 05-20-2009, 08:17 PM Yours is a first issue. But, I did purchase this thinking it might be a first. Thanks Stanton. Pink Floyd Archives. and according to that site as i stated in my earlier post matrix went up to -5-6 for first pressings. dualhead 05-21-2009, 09:05 AM Does your LP look like this one in every way? except the Matrix code? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320373495104 Yep. KeninDC 05-21-2009, 11:10 AM Looked at mine last night and its a SHVL 815 A-2U / SHVL 815 B-2U. I did not play it - choosing "Relaxin' with the Miles Davis Quintet" LP instead. This UK LP is indeed a notch above a pre-bar code US LP if you are really into PF. dualhead 05-21-2009, 12:08 PM I emailed the Pink Floyd Archives guy ad he is on the case. I'll post his response as soon as I get it. Thanks to all. dualhead 05-21-2009, 12:24 PM I found the same copy for sale here: http://shop.yumetenpo.jp/goods/d/bull-headz.com/g/PR23199/index.shtml |
