Recently my G-5000 has been unable to lock in stations even though the meter signal is good. The tuning meter becomes very sensitive and won't lock on to stations. I get alot of crackling sound. Does anyone know what I need to repair?

Have you tried blowing some canned air through the fins on the tuning cap ?

Don't know which is the tuner cap, but did blow air through some fins on the left side of unit. Problem still there. The weird thing is that only the left half of the tuner is like that.

Sorry I can't be of more help , Zero experience with your unit . You might get better results if you post this in the "Exclusively Sansui forum".
I think this is in the Sansui Equipment Database.


You might need to do an adjustment to one of the slugs , but not knowing one from another it's best to wait for a someone with more knowledge with you model.

When you shot the air in the fins , did you rotate it throughout it cycle ?
