While it is hard to come up with covers of Dylan that better the original, there are plenty should have never been allowed to exist. Here are my nominees:
The Nice: My Back Pages
Olivia Newton-John: If Not For You
William Shatner: Mr. Tambourine Man
Sebastian Cabot: Like A Rolling Stone
Guns and Roses (aka Puns and Posers): Knocking On Heaven's Door

The instant I saw your title and before I read your text...I was thinking
Guns and Roses. What a bloody travesty.:thumbsdn:

wow, i could go on for ever on this one.
The Nice, what an awful version i think they did some other dylan songs also.
I had a LP called Dylan Jazz, which was Glen Campbell and Hal Blaine and the rest of the wrecking crew doing "jazz" versions of Masters of War (unrecognizable at best) and some other songs. I always swore it was the worst record ever made and would play it for folks as a GROSS OUT. Well, I gave it to a friend of mine who is a major Dylan fan and he loved it! He even sought out a better copy for his collection, beauty is indeed in the ear of the beholder!

For epic Dylan cover Gawd-awfulness, check out this version of Desolation Row by My Chemical Romance. I suggest anti-nausea drugs before viewing.:D

It's videos like that that cause me to just shrug when totalitarian regimes (North Korea, China, Iran, Utah) block access to You-Tube.

They could use this as proof positive of the depravity of western culture.

Has anyone head the Bryan Ferry version of 'A Hard Rain's A-Gonna Fall'?
Of course, that's not bad, that's deliberately revisionist.
