They are labeled 30-701F on the back. They have a black frame and a dark brown cone and cloth surround. What did they come out of? I'd like to build a cabinet for them, what would be the proper dimensions and port size?

Thanks,
Ed

Hey Ed,
Would it be possible for you to post a picture of one of them?

Look like 12" woofers out of a set of Pioneer CS-88A's.

Thanks Griz. What are the dimensions of those cabinets? And how big is the port? I've got a couple of Sansui SP5500X midrange speakers and a SP 1500 crossover. All I need is a tweeter. I've got plenty of speakers already but I thought it might be fun to throw a vintage Frankenstein speaker together. I also have a couple of sheets of this 100 year old plywood that would make a pretty cabinet.

No problem, just surfin' the web tonight.

15" wide
12 1/2" deep
26" tall

There is a ton of info on these CS-88A's. Lots of bits and pieces on the Epay too...

By the way these are sealed enclosures, no port. I havn't taken them apart yet. So I'm not sure if they are segmented inside or how much damping material is in there.

Good luck with your project!

I have a pair of CS-77's hooked up in a spare bedroom and I really enjoy them.
