Well it arrived today. Here is a pic of the first mock up. Still trying to determine how the final product will look. I do know I will be removing the selector switch and only have one set of inputs. The black cylinder is where the transformer normally goes. Don't know if I will mount it there and cover it with some trick billet thing or mount it inside. So many options.

I'll see some of you Bottleheads at Fred's this Saturday.

Wards,

Good stuff! Those handles look like something you added. Nice touch. I also like the toroidal power transformer, or is that a cap from a spray can? :)

If you want to improve the thing, if the tubes don't have shields, get some sockets that support the bayonette spring loaded nickel plated shields. It will probably buy you better hum performance.

Rob -

The "tansformer" is a speaker port that just fits over the standard transformer. I was seeing what it looked like. I may still just mount it inside and build a RF shield around it. Same with the rails, they are just set on top to get an idea of esthetics.

The tubes will kind of be shielded with stacked stamped metal plates, ala JBL horn lense. So they will be totally surrounded with these metal "fins".

I will have a new top plate made to eliminate any un-neccessary holes.

Wards,

Oh yeah, I forgot you were putting those neat aluminum fin planes around the tubes. That will do it if they are all electrically one and to ground.
