Does anyone on the forum happen to have a Thorens TD124 MKII with the platter off the table? I'd like to know what the inside diameter and outside diameter of the strobe ring is to see if it could be used as a replacement for ELAC tables. There is a guy selling very good reproductions of the TD124 MKII strobe ring on E-Bay but numerous attempts to get him to tell me the ID/OD of the ring have gone unanswered. He gets $45 plus shipping for these so it's too expensive to just buy and take a chance. I know the TD124 has a similarly sized platter but I'd have to know the ID/OD of the strobe ring to know if it could be used for the ELAC tables.

Thanks in advance

Dave

If he's not answering your e-mails to me is a red flag. He may be a good seller but when e-mails go unanswered I get a little nervous about buying.

His integrity as a seller is not in question, he has a 99+% positive feedback for several hundred sales. I think he just thinks answering any question related to using his product on another brand of turntable is either a waste of time or beneath his dignity to answer. E-bay's rating for communication was one of the indices that the seller did not get a 100% rating for. I just need the diameter measurements so I can make an informed decision on whether or not the part will work on my obscure restoration project.

Anyone out there have a Thorens TD124 MKII with the platter off or willing to take it off for a minute to measure the inside and outside diameter of the strobe ring? I'd love to know what those measurements are so I know if I can replace a missing ring on an ELAC table with the Thorens part. Thanks in advance...
