Have a sansui 5000x receiver. All lights are out except aux and phono-1. So I replaced all lights. I got a slightly lower watt 60w instead of 100w and yes there is a difference but not enough for me to bother with (the selector lights). The 7 face plate lights are great. But when I tried to fire up the light for the needle. No go. (Before I tear apart the needle.) Now I do have a 4000 receiver that the needle changes color from yellow to red am/fm. Does the 5000x do this? From what I could tell in the manual says no. So does anybody have a link or advice for just the needle light.
Thanks,
Josh

60W & 100W? I don't think so...
Most dial indicator lamps are small 'grain 'O wheat' lamps. 3 to 5mm diameter. You ought to pull yours out & see.

No the needle does not change color
Parts express has the lamp you need check under leaded lamps IIRC it is 6v .12 diam check the voltage on your unit before you order.

For now the 60watts are a little darker. But okay for my taste. Also I'll double check but I don't think the needle is getting any power. Yes the lamps I got are the correct size. just lower watts. Can this cause a problem? Also I did check the amp boards and they are the newer 6013 or whatever they are. I'm not in front the receiver. But they are the updated ones. I'll search out a light when I get home tonight.
Thanks

Yea I got everything messed up. 6v 100ma. I got 6v 60ma. Yes they do make a difference not as bright. The needle is 5v 60ma. so the correction. Also I did double check. it is power to the leads. So it is just the light.

The dial pointer is usually a 3mm diameter lamp. I replace them with 6v 70ma lamps from MCM electronics.
