I was wondering if anyone knew what it might take to add a 78 RPM speed to the Technics SL-D3. Somewhere I had read about someone having done this, but there was no information on what kind of modifications they needed to make. I figure that if I can add the speed I can mount a cartridge with a 3 mil stylus in a second headshell to get me started with 78 playback.

(And yes, I am very aware of the different stylus sizes, EQs, speed variations, etc...)

Yes.

You have to do kind of what the pic shows you. I recommend a mini toggle to take it out of the circuit if you want to switch back to 45.

If you need more detail, pm me your email address.

Thanks for the info.

Does anyone know where I might be able to find a copy of the article on the SL-D2 modification from the April 1982 issue of Popular Electronics?
